If you're not from here, you probably haven't heard of us. If you are, you already know that Mat & Naddie's offers its own brand of fine dining combined with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that has attracted a local following since opening nine years ago.
 Fine, yet accessible, local cuisine is the watchword here. Although we do get the occasional tourist who ventures off the beaten path, Mat & Naddie's caters to its neighbors' tastes.
Almost a decade ago, longtime Mat & Naddie's cook, Steve Schwarz, purchased the restaurant from founders Paula and Michael Schramel and their children Nat & Maddie (get it?). Schwarz creates the friendly and funky look of a roadside café that does not betray how very ambitious the Creole fine dining menu is. When weather is pleasant, Mat & Naddie's is located at 937 Leonidas, (show me a map) "... in the Riverbend, where Freret meets the River," in a quaint restored 150 year-old shotgun house in a residential neighborhood. Dinner is served every night but Sunday and Wednesday from 5:30PM to 9:30PM. Lunch is our "Meat & 3" menu and is served Monday through Friday, 11:00AM till 2:00PM.
